Beech Tree A Symbol of Knowledge
This is the first painting in a series I am calling the meaning of Trees. In my research, trees symbolize many things in different cultures. I started with a tree I do not often paint, but love. the majestic Beech. When it is young it can look like a crown and when it reaches maturity they can measure up to 140 feet tall creating large canopies that some people believe cathedrals were designed after. Beech trees are known as the Queen of Trees. They symbolize learning and knowledge. They have also symbolized tolerance. In a turbulent time where our lives are impacted by a pandemic, rioting and climate change, there is probably not a better symbol for humans on the path to healing each other and the earth.
